Distinguished Alumni of 2003

Melissa Co-Anchors Newsline 9's "Live at 5" and " Newsline 9 at 6."  She is also the Assistant News Director for the Wausau-based ABC affiliate.  Melissa has received numerous broadcasting awards from the Associated Press and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.

Recently, Melissa attended the prestigious Poynter Institute. Poynter is dedicated to teaching and inspiring journalists to be leaders in the communities they serve.  In addition to her journalism work, Melissa enjoys being part of the Children's Miracle Network working with sick and injured children.

She also volunteers for the "Champions of Youth" project and the annual "Festival Of Trees".  Melissa is a proud 1980 graduate of D. C. Everest High School.  Not surprisingly, she makes her home in the Everest school district with her husband and son.
