At Rothschild School we require students to follow four basic rules:
Students are expected to demonstrate good conduct, use self-control and maintain a safe attitude by observing safety practices before, during and after school. Rothschild believes that a positive school atmosphere enhances individual learning. To maintain this atmosphere, students must conduct themselves appropriately and not interfere with the learning or rights of others. Therefore, the following "all school discipline plan" has been implemented and this section is devoted to communicating that plan to students and parents. DISCIPLINE CLASSROOM PLANPHILOSOPHY: All students can behave appropriately and all students have a right to learn. Furthermore, the teacher has the right to teach and students must follow a set of rules to establish an excellent learning environment. INSIDE THE BUILDING CONDUCT PHILOSOPHY: Students are expected to follow some basic rules while inside the building during instructional or non-instructional times. All areas of the building will be supervised by professional, non-professional and safety patrols. BATHROOMS RULES: Students will: 1) No loud behavior. 2) Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself. 3) No horseplay. 4) Use the facilities and leave. 5) Maintain cleanliness. CONSEQUENCES: When a child breaks a rule… 1) 1st offense: verbal warning 2) 2nd offense: inside recess 3) 3rd offense: sent to principal HALLS RULES: Students will: 1) Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself. 2) Respect the property of others. 3) Walk and keep to the right. 4) No loud talking. 5) All activity/play cease. CONSEQUENCES: When a child breaks a rule… 1) 1st offense: verbal warning 2) 2nd offense: inside for recess 3) 3rd offense: sent to principal CAFETERIA PHILOSOPHY: At Rothschild we will provide for an efficient and orderly lunchroom so that students may enjoy lunch. RULES: Students will: 1) Be polite and courteous to others. 2) Demonstrate appropriate manners. 3) Remain seated. 4) Eat at least a portion of their lunch. 5) Use quiet voices. 6) Keep hands, feet and other objects to themselves. 7) Not interfere with the rights of others. 8) Stop talking once the signal is given by the supervisor. CONSEQUENCES: When a child breaks a rule… 1) 1st violation: verbal reminder 2) 2nd violation: sent to quiet table
PHILOSOPHY: All students need intermittent opportunity to release energy, engage in appropriate play, and develop social skills with other children. Furthermore, research indicates that students learn faster and remember more if they have frequent periods of exercise and fresh air. To accomplish these goals, all students will be assigned outdoor recesses. Children are expected to go outside unless:
RULES: 2) No tackle games or shoving games are permitted.
